Andrew Johnson taught creative and expository writing, linguistics at the University of Texas and English in College before he moved to Italy and then France. Since then, he has worked as an English teacher and consultant. He is dually certified to teach Italian and English as a second language. He has studied Psychology, too. Now he is a writer and trained teacher who has published articles in print and online publications. Andrew is dedicated to lifelong learning and is an avid traveler, who enjoys immersing himself in new languages and cultures around the globe.

He comes from a family of educators. His father currently teaches third grade, and his sister teaches second. He likes hearing their stories from the front lines, and they excite him about 21st-Century learning.

He is passionate about creating peak experiences for students and has worked in urban and suburban schools in Toulon. He currently teaches seventh grade at an independent school. He works on projects that help teachers translate the science of learning into everyday practices in their own classrooms. Besides, being an educator, Andrew is passionate about lesson design, and his aim is to create culturally focused lessons that incorporate technology effectively. He believes strongly in all forms of education because it is through education that people broaden their minds and open their hearts.

Andrew lectures nationally and internationally to educators and parents about students’ emotional intelligence, school success, social-emotional and character development, and youth purpose.

His skills and knowledge cover disciplines such as English, Psychology, History, Sociology. He is a lover of naps, cookie dough, and video games. Andrew loves keeping busy, but he especially enjoys writing, teaching, and helping students. He is interested in STEM, technology and arts integration, and the future of education. His vision is to personalize learning to graduate 100% of students from high school and prepare them to become lifelong learners.
